Boxing Day Blessings

Dec 30, 2019

There is a wonderful tradition in Europe called ‘Boxing Day’, in which European Christians ‘pay forward’ their Christmas blessings to others. The tradition started hundreds of years ago as a way for families to share their blessings and good fortunes with others. After Christmas, after the gifts were unwrapped, rich foods consumed and festivities concluded; food, clothing, and cash were boxed up and given to those in need. Fast forward a few centuries and the tradition of charity the day after Christmas has endured with Europeans opening their hearts and wallets wide to share the generosity they received with others.

At this time of year, organizations like ours are furiously finishing our budgets for the coming year. Agendas are set, staffing and resources planned for carrying out our work in the coming months. So often, there is not enough funding to go around.

That’s why I am asking you today, a day after the celebration of Christ’s birth, to prayerfully consider paying forward your blessings so that our organization can carry out the critically important work of saving God’s precious children from abortion.

Please, so many lives are at stake. Although abortion rates are down, nearly one million babies are sacrificed to abortion every single year. One million bright shining faces that were meant to reflect the love of God are ripped from their mother’s wombs, thrown into garbage cans and relegated to the dustbins of history. Won’t you please help us change the fate of these children? Won’t you please prayerfully consider paying your blessings forward by supporting the National Pro-Life Center?

May God bless you richly in this season and always.
